Tianyi Shi Design
Tianyi Shi Design is dedicated to exploring new life experiences through household product design. The studio strives to break the traditional forms of household products, blur the boundaries between art and design, and create novel experiences of aesthetic and delight, building new order and a unique design vision.
Specializing in material-driven experimentation and exploration—especially with foam materials—the studio draws inspiration from the playful engagement with materials. It is the studio’s hope that its works can bring unexpected emotional and usage experiences to the audience.

The design of the Rong Candlestick stems from the novel experience created by integrating traditional dyeing materials and craftsmanship with modern foam materials. For the color palette, we drew on research into traditional dyeing materials and ultimately selected iconic hues from natural dyes (botanical and mineral dyes), including those derived from indigo paste, sappanwood, orpiment and lapis lazuli as the base colors.
Its form is shaped by the natural dripping of dyed foam material, evoking the visual of melting candle wax trickling down. This design allows the candlestick to blend seamlessly with real candle drippings, hence the name Rong (meaning "fusion" or "melting").
