Urushi Lacquer Floor
Drawing upon the material research on "Wood & Urushi Lacquer in Traditional Chinese Handicrafts" by the Rong Design Library, Ugan Concept has pioneered the application of this ancient lacquer to modern flooring. This innovation reinterprets a traditional, natural material for contemporary living, creating a floor of distinctive character. The lacquer forms an amber-like layer that bonds firmly to the wood, growing more luminous, lustrous, and durable with the passage of time.

Oriental Architectural–Scale Floorboards
In collaboration with designer Mei Shuzhi, Ugan Concept has reconfigured the dimensions of modern flooring based on the proportional relationships of traditional Eastern architectural elements: the long brick, the square tile, and the stone slab. This concept has been translated into three new plank ratios—5:1, 1:1, and 3:1—applying the scale of Eastern architecture to contemporary spaces. The wood's surface is treated with Ugan Concept's proprietary reactive staining process, which creates richly layered colors and a naturally textured, tactile finish.

One-Piece Bamboo Floor
This flooring is engineered by unfurling a single, complete stalk of bamboo into a solid plank. This innovative method preserves the bamboo's natural node patterns and wholeness, showcasing its complete original form. The surface is then carbonized, a process that bestows it with a deep, rich caramel hue.

Indigo-Dyed Floor
Inspired by the Rong Design Library's research into natural dyeing, Ugan Concept applies traditional textile dyeing methods to hand-color its flooring, reviving authentic natural hues with ancient techniques. The Indigo-Dyed Flooring uses natural indigo plants as the dye, which, when combined with the equally natural wood, results in a healthier and more eco-friendly product. The deep, cool blue, with its sense of restraint and subtlety, also reflects the introspective and understated lifestyle inherent in traditional Eastern culture.

Adze-Hewn Floor
Reviving traditional Chinese woodworking methods, this flooring is meticulously crafted by Ugan Concept's artisans using only hand tools like axes and adzes. This process creates a unique, faceted surface with concave marks across the planks. After careful hand-sanding, the floor develops the smooth, lustrous patina of a surface that has been naturally worn and cherished over many years.

Hand-Aged Floor
The surface of each plank proudly displays the unique, handcrafted texture created by Ugan Concept's artisans; and is treated with a deep-fuming process, which penetrates the surface layer to create a rich, profound color that is consistent from the outside in.

Reclaimed Old Elm Floor (Layer One)
Ugan Concept's reclaimed wood series breathes new life into timber that might otherwise be discarded. Elm, a wood species deeply rooted in Eastern heritage, is a centerpiece of this collection. Ugan Concept salvages old elm planks from traditional houses, carefully preserving their naturally aged texture and uniquely beautiful grain. Through a meticulous refinishing process, we enhance their stability and elegance, preparing them for a new chapter.

Weathered Reclaimed Wood Floor
Crafted from old-growth oak, these planks undergo a special weathering treatment to create authentic cracks and a naturally contoured surface, imbuing them with the profound texture of time. Further hand-sanding and distressing techniques are applied to give the floor rounded, slightly curved edges and ensure that all knots and cracks are smooth to the touch. The final result is the warm, gentle patina of a well-loved, time-worn floor.

Aurea Series
The AUREA stems from the enjoyment and reflection that Steve and l found in the laws of nature.Taking the golden ratio as an example, we want to create a purely archetypal creation.Inspired by classical architecture, it is a delicate and elegant design that can blend into indoorenvironments. The stacked double loops pay tribute to the fuliness of the circle, with light andshadow seemingly suspended in mid-air, hazy and enchanting. With the collaboration of the Moorgen, this design introduces a mechanically driven manual controlfor lighting, tightly connecting humans with the digital world. The small leather handle providesusers with a unique tactile experience and allows for the adjustment of light.

Hidden Box
All things return to hiding, gathering momentum for new life. In the black soil, seeds lie dormant in winter—abiding by the laws of nature, they accumulate strength quietly, waiting for the arrival of spring.

Points, Lines, Planes
This art installation takes brass as its carrier and employs the hot brass coloring technique to deliver a profound expression of minimalist aesthetics through the metal’s texture.
The warm tone of brass, blended with the gradations of hot coloring, creates layered visual variations—as if time has quietly settled on the metal surface. Within the installation, the condensation of points, the extension of lines, and the spread of planes intertwine in geometric order. It not only preserves the substantial texture of brass itself and the cool rationality of metal, but also, through the combination of color and form, conveys an abstract poetry that transcends concrete images. It is as if, in silence, it narrates the artistic philosophy born from the collision of form and material, infusing the space with unique visual tension and an artistic atmosphere.

Halcyon Lion
This painting is created on a bronze plate using chemical etching and high-temperature bronze coloring techniques. The etched texture presents the outline of the awakening lion with an irregular effect, resembling a Southern-style awakening lion surrounded by a "burning" visual effect. The lion appears vivid and lifelike, boasting a unique style. For the hot coloring process of the bronze painting, a brush is used for dotting and dyeing, creating an ink-wash painting style on the surface. The original brass color revealed after polishing further enhances the three-dimensionality and richness of the entire bronze painting, endowing this new artistic expression of bronze painting with higher aesthetic value.

Ingenious Design – A Lantern, Brimming with Warmth
Drawing inspiration from lanterns, this piece embeds the wish for "four seasons of peace" into its form. Warm light shimmers against the gentle warmth of bronze, and every curve seems to cradle the longing for togetherness. Placed in a home, it feels like a steady anchor for the comforting warmth of peace.
The Magic of Bronze – Nurtures Flowers, Grows Affection Naturally
In ancient imperial courts, bronze flower vases were cherished not for the metal’s value, but because bronze is inherently an excellent choice for holding water:
Bronze ions subtly purify the water and inhibit bacterial growth.
Flowers placed in it stay fresh longer; even when they fade, they won’t rot in the water—instead, they gradually turn into dried flowers, preserving their fleeting beauty a little while longer.

Melting Blossom Series
This design is completely transparent, and l imagine it blendingseamlessly into any environment as it essentially disappears intothe background.
However it can gently light up and dim down, giving the impressionof something that breathes and feels alive.I often think about buildings in our cities-these buildings can sometimesfeel cold and detached, creating a sense of distance from people. But if it also has life, it is part of nature, allowing for such apossibility of interaction with it.0ur cities could then become warmand emotional spaces rather than being dominated by cold, impersonal designs.

Impression·Luminous Flow
This artwork ca ptures the ephemeral interplay of light and color in nature, transforming Monet's 'symphony of hues' into tangible three-dimensional art. Breaking away from conventional furniture lines, its asymmetric mosaic of flowing color blocks masterfully replicates the vibrancy of Impressionist brushstrokes. More than functional furniture, it stands as an installation art homage to the Impressionist masters, infusing spaces with dynamic aesthetic rhythm that celebrates the poetry of light.
