We pair Yuhang bamboo with an innovative steel catenary structure, and finish it with eco-stone slates—recyclable material made from locally generated solid-waste—to form a multicolored canopy that seems to float like feathers.

Rainwater gathers on the roof and descends as a clear, beaded curtain. Driven by gravity, six bamboo-tube mechanisms strike steel tongue drums custom-tuned for Yuhang by sound artist Gu Bing (Gu Bing Soundscape Lab, Hangzhou), producing the distant harmonies of Yu in the traditional Chinese pentatonic scale, corresponding to the Five Elements’ "water".
