Khipu “Rope-Making” is Zhao Zihan’s creative approach to the language expression that flexible materials can shape, and it is also a sculptural experiment beyond fiber-woven flexible materials. Based on his past creative experience, he uses the method of tempering polymer materials to soften the materials to a state where they can be woven. The creator’s body language and subconscious perception allow the work to be formed through weaving and solidification within a limited time frame.

Zhao explores the process of modifying new methods of material printing with manual intervention that adds randomness, ensuring uniqueness and quality to the work. The interference of human intervention is a Re-Creation after printing and printing, allows detachment from mechanical production and claims a full vitality of the object.
