The artwork employs the intricate craft of eggshell inlay within the ancient art of Chinese lacquer ware, a process so meticulous that its origins can be traced back to the resplendent era of Tang Dynasty. The artist, with exquisite finesse, transforms fragile eggshells into artistic vocabulary, meticulously arranging them to interweave a labyrinthine pattern that is both intricate and intricate yet retains the unique sobriety and elegance inherent to Eastern aesthetics.
On the obverse, the eggshells gleam like pure snow, delicately positioned to outline a maze-like design, where complexity harmoniously coexists with simplicity, fully embodying the charm of Eastern culture. As one flips the piece, the reverse reveals a profound blackness akin to the depths of night, formed by the traditional Chinese lacquer, creating a stark contrast with the pristine whites of the eggshells. In this interplay of black and white, a symphony of light and shadow, tradition and modernity, is orchestrated, celebrating the harmony between ages and showcasing the artistic prowess that bridges the past with the present.
