Color does not always depend on chemical substances; it can also arise from structure itself.
The iridescence of shells, the wings of butterflies, the feathers of birds, and the textures of minerals—these colors are not applied externally, but emerge from the order of microstructures.
Cellulose Nanocrystals (CNC) originate from cotton, straw, and wood. Through extraction and purification, they become a transparent liquid.
Over time, this material self-assembles into thin films, which, under the influence of light, refract into iridescent colors.
Ultimately, it can naturally degrade and return to the earth.
